Our History

The Aiken County Teen Pregnancy Prevention Council (ACTPPC) was developed in 1994 as a 501(c)3 organization through a partnership among public institutions and private citizens within the community.  Later, the ACTPPC changed its name to Aiken Youth Empowerment (AYE) to decrease confusion about the types of community programming the agency offers.

In April 2012, AYE merged with another local nonprofit, Helping Hands, Inc., to broaden the scope of potential clients and collaborate with another organization dedicated to the health and well-being of children, youth and families.

Our organization works hard to establish new partnerships and relationships with area schools, churches and other youth-serving organizations to implement the various research-proven programs we offer.  Each year, hundreds of children, youth, parents and other caring adults benefit for our initiatives.
